KLAUS HAAPANIEMI LIMITED EDITION PRINTS TO HELP RAISE MONEY FOR A SOLAR POWER SYSTEM IN KHANAPUR SCHOOL
The lovely people behind some of our production in India have founded a school for unprivileged children in Khanapur. With a help of friends and supporters they have managed to build the school, fund teaching and provide uniforms, materials and computers for the school. As fantastic as a computer can be to learn and connect with the rest of the world, it needs power to run. The village of Khanapur gets only 8 hours of electricity in a day and it is on rotation, often not available during the school hours.
The charity organizing the school has decided to build a solar power system for more efficient and ecological electricity than an expensive generator. We want to help this dream come true by making some beautiful prints of Klaus Haapaniemi’s work. They come in edition of 50 and are signed by the artist. There are two designs: the wonderfully colorful and rich “Peacocks” and the adventurous “Putte The Cat”. All the sale profits will go to the Khanapur School.

Why “The Call” Was The Best Book I Read in 2011

What Jane Eyre Doesn’t Do: Marry the young, handsome missionary.

What She Does Do: Marry Rochester, the invalid, blind old man.

What The Rabbit Is: Maybe lonely because we have just one. I have heard budgerigars are good pets for rabbits. The budgerigar sits on the back of the rabbit and keeps it company, and the rabbit is not afraid of the budgerigar because the rabbit knows the budgerigar is too small to hurt the rabbit.

What the Last Hundred Pages of Jane Eyre Is: A lot of talk.”

A few days before Christmas I found myself at a bookstore in upstate Maine, trying to buy presents for a list of 15. My ever ready to procrastinate brain had made it seem like a good idea to wait until I had flown from DC to Portland before I bought anything for anyone.  But as I stood in a tiny little independent bookstore in a tiny little independent Maine town, I realized that this had been a huge mistake. This part-antique, part-bookstore, complete with live in cat, was not the place I was going to find the hot off the presses books I had originally wanted to buy.
